What does a sump pump do?

A sump pump removes standing water from the sump basin in a basement or crawlspace. When the water reaches a certain level, the sump pump turns on and removes the water through a discharge pipe.

A sump pump can also be used in other applications such as dewatering roofs, patios or storage sheds, and performing emergency water transfer.

Installing a sump pump is fairly easy and can be completed using simple household tools in about 30 minutes.
